We’ve received numerous reports on RunDll32 errors after patching your system with VistaGlazz beta 2. We are looking into the problem, until then we advice (the brave among you) to await beta 3 or our next well tested release version of VistaGlazz.
Read the forum and comments in the VistaGlazz beta 2 post for more information. This issue seems to occur on SP1 systems only.
Update 2008/05/10:
We like to note that VistaGlazz isn’t compatible with Vista Home Basic. Microsoft has deliberately removed Aero from Vista Home Basic, and we would violate probably 10 pages of Terms of Use if we were to make it Vista Home Basic compatible.
Also make sure that you are using Beta 2. Unfortunately the link on our download page linked to Beta 1. Beta 2 should fix any errors caused to you by Beta 1 after patching.
Here is a quick reminder, the current release of VistaGlazz is not compatible with Service Pack 1. It’s wise to unpatch your system before installing Service Pack 1. Do not use VistaGlazz (1.0) on a Vista system that has Service Pack 1 installed.
We are working on a version that is Service Pack 1 compatible.
In the meanwhile you can patch your system manually. You can find the files here:

Next week we’re both going on holiday, so we decided on releasing PixelCryptor 1.1 this week. The list of improvements can be found at the bottom of the PixelCryptor download page. We used NSIS to create the installer and since we’re pretty much new at this platform, there is a small chance you’ll encounter a bug during install or uninstall. We have tested the installer thoroughly, but please let us know if you stumble upon a bug, so we might fix it in the next installer.
Our download.com mirror is offline for a few days, because it takes them some time to process the new version. You can use our CodeGazer mirror for your convenience.
Enjoy and we look forward to your feedback.
In this month’s issue of ComputerBild you’ll find a small reference to VistaGlazz. The magazine comes with a DVD which contains the program as a bonus.
ComputerBild is a german magazine and is considered Europe’s biggest Computer Magazine. Every month it reaches more than 3 million readers.
With VistaGlazz you can also use custom styles on your Vista system. All you need to do is go through the first patching step in VistaGlazz (patch system).
If you like to try some custom styles, in our forum we have a list of styles.
DeviantArt, AeroXP and WinMatrix are also good sources for styles.
If you need instructions on how to install a custom style, read this article at CutEdge.
