VistaGlazz 1.2 - Diagnostic

A few hours ago I’ve released the new version of VistaGlazz 1.2. I noticed that some of our users still encounter the You have to reboot before you can use VistaGlazz-screen. For these users and other users that encounter problems with VistaGlazz I’ve created the Diagnostic screen.

How to use the Diagnostic screen
- Get the latest version of VistaGlazz (released 5min ago): VistaGlazzSetup.exe
- Run the program with the -diag commandline argument
- You’ll get a Diagnostic form instead of the normal VistaGlazz window
- Hit the Diagnose button and have a look at the output

The easiest way to set the commandline argument is to edit the VistaGlazz shortcut on your Desktop. Rightclick the shortcut and modify the Target field, add -diag after the command (after the last “). To run it normally remove the -diag again.

I hope this is of help to you. Feel free to post the diagnose output on the forum, with the additional information it should be easier for us to assist you.

VistaGlazz 1.2 - SP2 Compatible

Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and as we’ve come to expect custom style are still not supported. Therefor it’s my great pleasure to announce the release of VistaGlazz 1.2. In this version we’ve changed the following:

- Windows Vista SP2 support
- Major changes to the patching technique
- Asynchronous (read: speedier) start-up
- Few bug fixes/optimizations to both installer/VistaGlazz

I’ve tested the new release with my trusty virtual machines (SP1 and SP2 in both x86 and x64), but the new patching technique of course might not for your specific system. Remember to create a system restore point before you start patching. Refer to the VistaGlazz help file for more information.

To everyone using an earlier version of VistaGlazz. You can uninstall your old version and install the new version. You don’t have to unpatch your system, the new and the old version are compatible.

We’re back!

After a long and very satisfying trip we’re back in The Netherlands. Our main focus now is on a small update to VistaGlazz, making it even a bit more stable and we hope to introduce Vista SP2 compatibility very soon.

Update May 6th: for everyone who has the VistaGlazz keeps asking me to reboot problem. Please try the latest version from our website. In the reboot screen you’ll have a Problems? button that will aid you with that error.

I also noticed on YouTube and other websites that a lot of people still click on the first icon, reboot and then the second icon to patch both their system and their msstyle. Check the help, I threw a gimmick into 1.1. You can start by clicking on the patch style button and VistaGlazz will ask you if you want to patch everything at once.

Around the world

Team CodeGazer is going on a trip, a world trip that is. For the coming 4.5 months we won’t be able to offer support on our applications (or at least maybe a little if we can find an internet connection).

Recently we’ve released a new version of PixelCryptor and VistaGlazz. We’ve taken the time to make them easier to use and made them more robust. Feel free to post your questions/thoughts/comments on the site and in the forum.
